Sandy’s Hopeful Room

“In the tender compassion of our God the dawn from on high

shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness

and the  shadow of death and to guide our feet into the way of

peace.”  (from  the Canticle of Zechariah. . .Luke Chapter 1: 78-79)

This is one of my favorite Scripture passages.  I love the hopefullness that is expressed here.  This passage speaks of compassion, not just any compassion but the tender compassion of our God.  So we now know that God not only loves us, He has tender compassion for us.  For anyone who is a parent we understand how it feels in our heart when our child looks to us for help or guidance.  It makes us compassionate toward them, for how else could it be?

Let go that which holds you down in despair and give it to Jesus.  Look  for ways to help others, it is in this way that you too can be a guide to the way of peace.  It’s funny how that works! When you are in pain, go to someone in pain.  It helps your pain when you help ease the pain of another.
