Let Every Breath I Take Lord

Let Every Breath I Take Lord

Let every breath I take Lord be a prayer,

a prayer of gratitude and thanksgiving,

for love, for faith, for life.

even for pain and suffering.

Let every breath I take Lord be a prayer.

Let every breath I take Lord be a prayer,

a prayer for my family,

my husband, my children and their children,

my siblings and their children.

Let every breath be a prayer Lord.

Let every breath I take Lord be a prayer,

a prayer for me Lord,

for my failures and missteps,

for my loose tongue,

for my insensitive ways.

Let every breath be a prayer Lord.

Let every pain I suffer Lord be a prayer,

a prayer for those in pain, for those who cry,

for those who don’t know you and those who do,

for those who suffer for their faith.

Let every pain I suffer Lord be a prayer.

Let every moment of joy Lord be a prayer,

for those who need joy, for those who know joy,

for those who bring joy and those who don’t,

for those who forgot joy.

Let every moment of joy Lord be a prayer.

Let every moment Lord be a prayer,

a prayer for those who only have a moment,

for those whose moments are heavy and burdened.

Let every moment Lord be a prayer –

For those who need a prayer. . .

Let me say a prayer for those moments. . .

    • I’m not so sure I responded to your beautiful words. I will read your poems – the ones you suggested – once I get a chance to catch my breath. Been very busy the past couple weeks that I haven’t taken the time to write any new posts.

May God continue to bless you!
