Your Life Is Your Canvas. Paint It.

My daughter Kelly’s favorite artist is Van Gogh and I love his quote and all the other quotes about life and creativity. This is wonderful. Read it let it, sink in. Thanks to Erika’Jean’s Blog “Proverbs Way”.

When Love Comes In A Can of Ravioli

I have learned over the years that love comes in all kinds of packages.  Most of us are familiar with the usual forms of love, you know – the kissy, hands all over, can’t keep your hands off and lovey, dovey kinds of words.  All legit, all nice and warm and fuzzy.

Sometimes love comes in ways we just don’t expect.  I am married to a wonderful man who shows his love in unexpected ways.  We have been married for 37 years and counting.  To this day, I still have trouble understanding him.  I have a sneaky suspicion that he finds it hard to understand me.  It’s an ongoing problem between men and women, not such a big surprise to any couple out there.

Many are the times that he will do something around the house, like put up my bird feeders, do the laundry, fix something that was broken, etc.  He just doesn’t tell me he’s done it.  I think he thinks it’s more fun waiting for me to find what he has done.

I must admit that up until a short while ago it used to annoy me that he wouldn’t tell me when he had done something wonderful instead of waiting for me to find it.  Or, I would get annoyed and sometimes I still do when we spend the evening doing separate things and not speaking very much at all.  Personal conversations are pretty much off the table, probably he just doesn’t find it comfortable.  I believe for most females it is a difficult thing not being able to talk to the man you love about your personal life or your love for one another.  It doesn’t happen here.  Of course, I used to get very sad about that, but now I just try to remember that for some people, it is a difficult thing to do.

The other day there was a commercial on TV about Chef Boy R Dee canned ravioli.  I told Tom that I used to love that Ravioli and Beefaroni in a can.  When I came home from wherever I was, there on the kitchen counter were 5 or 6 cans of Chef Boy R Dee Ravioli.

Love in a can. . .I just love this man!!!

It’s Ma am’ I Am

It’s Ma’am I Am

It’s Ma’am I am

Reluctant though. . .

For Miss I was

Short years ago.

She bent her head

with eyes of blue

and asked me ~

“Ma’am, can I help you?”

This youthful miss

so kind and sweet

with one word Ma’am

Set me on my feet. . .

And so it is

as all things go,

It’s Ma’am I am

reluctant though. . .
